I've read posts here and there about how ditching shampoo can be the best thing you can do for your hair. Ever since having O I have had the worst time with my hair. Aside from it falling out constantly it seems greasy all the time and never feels clean. I got some new Pantene shampoo made especially for long hair but it's awful, I rinse and rinse but it feels oily right after it dries. My Herbal Essences shampoo is better, but still not great. When my hair doesn't feel oily it is perpetually tangled, before O my hair was never really tangly, it was smooth and soft.
I can keep trying shampoos, start going for the expensive salon brands but I don't really want to keep tossing money at it and have dozens of bottles of shampoo laying around my house. So why not try the no poo thing? What's the worst that will happen, I'll wear my hair up all the time? Already there baby.
So, over the weekend I went out and bought a box of baking soda and some apple cider vinegar especially for this. It just feels kind of wrong to use my cooking/baking supplies on my hair. Tonight I'll start my "no poo" journey and keep ya posted on how it goes.
The recipe I'm going to try can be found here, http://coderedhat.com/no-poo-method/, I'm going to do method #1 and see how it goes.
Wish me luck!
