Holiday to do list v3

I'm making more progress on my list. I still have a TON of gifts to make, I haven't actually started on anything. I am hoping that my cold/flu/whatever it is is waning and I'll find some energy soon. Sorry for the messy list but I like having what I've completed marked off instead of just deleted so I feel like I've actually accomplished something.
  • Stock up on baby's essentials
    • Onesies
    • Receiving blankets
    • The rest of the gear we need - If I can EVER get my Babies R Us registry completion coupon to work. I've never sat on hold for so long trying to get someone to help me in my life. SO FRUSTRATING. This should be considered abuse of a heavily pregnant woman.
    • Clothes
  • Wash baby clothes and blankets
  • Get craft supplies from Michaels or AC Moore
    • I think I'll try to hit Michaels after work this week and then AC Moore on Friday since I'll be out that way shopping (They totally didn't have what I wanted so now I need to come up with a plan B)
  • Get fabric for the DIY hospital gown that I want to make. I actually want to make 2 of them so I'll get double the fabric.
  • Get fabric for receiving blankets
  • SEW!
  • Hire someone to remove the leaves from the yard and cut the grass (our mower stopped working and I don't really have the desire to do it all by hand 8 months pregnant)
  • Put up outside lights - I'll wait until the leaves are collected this weekend
  • Decorate for Christmas
  • Collect pictures for scrapbook gifts
  • Sort through pictures and get them printed
  • Make scrapbook pages
  • Christmas cards (I totally bought cards, but they're beautiful and in the mail so that's done at least)
  • Get oil changed in Snowball
  • Install car seat
  • Bake cookies (YUM!)
red - completed
green - new addition
black - still need to complete

Baby Shower Thank You cards

Last month after my baby shower I decided that I would dust off the old craft table and make some thank you cards. I wanted something simple that I could put together and get out before a month passed after the shower.  If I don't do something right away I tend to forget and I wanted to make sure to express my appreciation for all of the great and thoughtful gifts everyone gave me.

I liked the crispness of a white card with a blue onesie with just a spark of green so brighten it up. I didn't want to do anything too labor intensive since I had to make quite a few but I still wanted them to look homemade.

I used the New Arrival cartridge for my cricut to make the onesies. I really like the new Cricut Craft Room software because it works on my Mac (the original pay version, which I bought was Windows only so I had to keep my laptop around just for that) and because it has a lot more features than the original version.  I decided on a good size for the onesie and then I just filled the sheet of paper with them on my computer.

The green strips were some scraps that I had that I just cut down to 1/2" thick and 5.5" long which is the width of my cards. I taped them down and then added the "Thank You" to the top in a nice, bright blue.  The stamp is from the Stampin' Up Vivid Greetings set.

The last step is to add my "signature" stamp to the back. I add this to every card I make so it's just my little way of showing that it's made by me. Now they are ready for personalized messages and to be sent. All in all it took just a Saturday morning to make and I like the clean simplicity of them.

Nothing is getting accomplished

I'm being tormented by the todo list that is not being worked on. I have been running a low grade fever since Sunday and have been trying to rest so it goes away. So far, it won't leave me be.  I called the doctor this morning to see if I should go to my PCP because I've had this for so many days and they told me that I just needed to take it easy, stay hydrated, and take Tylenol around the clock.

I have a pile of crafts to be done, literally, on my craft table that I have 0 energy to start. I also have a growing shopping list that I need to take care of sooner rather than later.  I'm hoping I recover soon so this weekend I can really get moving on this. I'm quickly running out of time to make these gifts!
